Funeral and Memorial Service Celebrant for Orillia and the surrounding area.
As a person who has been involved in listening to people's stories for most of my working life, I am honored to bring that deep listening to you as you grieve the loss of your loved one and prepare to say goodbye.
As you begin the process of wondering about a service that would reflect your desires and the desires of your departed loved one, perhaps organized religion has not been part of your family story. There are other options to consider, for example, I am able to provide you with a service where spirituality is perhaps included but not in a traditionally structured way. The focus of the service is on giving a personalized and meaningful tribute to the person who has passed.
I am able to work with you to help tell their story to reflect your values and beliefs in a sensitive and caring way. It is a time to perhaps say thank you, a time to reflect on memorable moments, a time to grieve their passing and a time to celebrate their life. I will work with you in creating a personalized memorial, celebration of life or funeral that will be supportive of the beginning of your healing and grief journey.
My work has included managing director of a drop-in in a very busy downtown shopping center, retreat and workshop facilitator, and spiritual care for individuals. My education has included a Master's Degree in Ministry and Spirituality from Regis College in Toronto and Palliative Care training.
If you are seeking someone to help you create a memorial, celebration of life, funeral or graveside/internment service, please feel welcome to contact me. My goal is for you to have an experience that is designed with loving care and sensitive to you and your family's desires.
Testimonials
Recently, Wendy was the officiant for the memorial services for both my mom and dad. Wendy gently guided us through the planning of both services so that they were meaningful and personal. She went to great lengths to speakto the family members as she wanted to give everyone the opportunity to share our memories and love, all of which she thoughtfully integrated into the service. My mother, who was married to my father for 73 years, said that she wanted a 'good send off' for my dad because he was a 'good man'. Wendy was certainly instrumental in making our 'send offs' truly special and fitting.

Our family was most grateful to have Wendy Passmore as Officiant for my mother's 'Celebration of Life' service. We look back with much appreciation and fond memories for the special service which Wendy created. One senses that Wendy has a gift for "gathering " people together, even at difficult times. Her attentiveness to detail, interest in the life that our loved one led, and respectful honouring of our wishes, made for a meaningful and uplifting celebration service. Thank you Wendy, for creating a unique and peace-filled service, which we shall always remember with love.

The beautiful Celebration of Life service, prepared by you Wendy for your mom was deeply moving. The immediate impression was of a most natural and soothing mood. Greenery was in abundance, slender white candles rested in the sand and seating was in a circular format, with chairs gently touching. Inclusiveness and wonder was the mood immediately felt. All guests were invited to light a candle, if they so wished, and this simple act was compelling and complete. A podium stood near the candlelit area, centred for family members to speak of their fondest reminiscences. Months later, this relaxed, delightful and grace-filled service stays in my memory.
Wendy this service surpassed all expectations as you created such a unique Celebration of Life, to reflect the spirit of your beloved mom.
